Services vary between organisations but a fundamental principle is that we want things to work out for both you and the person with a learning disability. We aim to create a win win situation where everyone benefits. Some organisations will be members of the British Association for Supported Employment (BASE) and will hold nationally recognised quality marks such as Investors in People and the matrix Standard.
Services may include:
- Helping you with recruitment.People with a learning disability are often excluded from jobs they can do (for example by not having qualifications). We can help businesses with recruitment by finding the right people to do the job
- Helping businesses to carve big jobs into smaller tasks which someone with a learning disability could do (often called job carving)
- Supporting new employees through induction and training (often called job coaching)
- Providing on the job one to one support whist the new employee gets to know the job (job coaching)
- Providing ongoing support as and when required
