What are your responsibilities at work?
I help with the deliveries and unpacking them in the warehouse, and I also help checking and filling the stock on the shop floor.

Why did you want this job?
Because I enjoy retail and I wanted to get the experience of being in a department store.

What do you enjoy about working?
Working gives me the experience that I need to work in a retail environment and I enjoy meeting customers and working with different people.

Why is it important to you to be working?
Because I have my own independence and now I can travel independently on the bus to and from work.

What difficulties have you had in finding work?
I found it difficult being able to do interviews, I get very nervous and don’t know what to say.

Background of service user:
Jamie has studied various things at college and in now training in the Café Ivy ran by Mencap, completing a city and guilds award in Aim 2 Work project.
Also Jamie wanted to do something else within retail working in the town centre and now he works at Westgate Department Store and is doing fantastic and enjoying himself. Jamie suffers with
