I like earning money and working hard and enjoying a pint with my money. I enjoy the grass cutting best and working outside of Linkage at the different Waterloo housing sites. I like meeting the public.
What do you do at work?
Cutting grass, strimming at different sites weeding and sweeping, loading and unloading the trailer and putting the cuttings on to compost pile.
What do you enjoy most?
I like using mowers and strimmers and I like meeting new people.
Why did you want this job?
To get paid and to use the skills that I have learnt at Toynton College and Scremby
Why is it important for you to have a job?
To get paid, save some money and spend some on beer. It keeps me busy and gives me a reason to get up. It is Important to meet new people.
What difficulties have you had in finding work?
This is the first job I applied for so I was lucky. I am a Grounds Maintenance Operative.
Background:
Edward attended Linkage Toynton Specialist College for 3 years and studied horticulture as one of his subjects. Edward now attends Linkage Employment Services 3 days per week. In addition to his job as a Grounds Maintenance Operative he is undertaking vocational training in horticulture and retail.
